This course teaches the fundamentals of computational thinking, game design, and the game development process in a real-world situation. Teams will learn first-hand technical skills in block-coding to build a game that addresses a real-world environmental problem and work in pair-programming to complete a playable game that will inspire players to act.
Core Competencies
Students will be educated in the technical and interpersonal skills needed to work as a part of a development team. Main tasks of the course include:

Deliverables
Students will build and deliver a fully functioning Scratch game addressing a UN Sustainable Development Goal. Select teams will be submitted for entry to the United Nations Global Game Jam. Students will have completed a playable Scratch game at the end of this 40 hour course.

Your commitment to the students taking this course is of the utmost importance to their growth and commitment to learning. We ask that any business wanting to participate agree to certain terms, including, but not limited to:
- Submit simple evaluation and feedback for each student at the end of the course.
- Sign a learning agreement to confirm that you are in a working partnership with Digital Skills For All students.
- Provide a dedicated contact who is available to act as an administrator over the duration of the project to address student questions, project concerns, etc.
- Be available for a quick video call with the Digital Skills For All team to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
- Members of your team will be available for classes during all times agreed upon throughout the course.
